Choose a pet-friendly format
A photo session should not become stressful for the animal. A relaxed dog may enjoy an outdoor shoot, while an anxious pet may feel safer in a familiar indoor setting. Tell the photographer about your pet's temperament before the session.
What to bring
- a favourite toy or familiar object;
- treats that are already part of the pet's routine;
- a leash or secure carrier;
- water and wipes for longer sessions.
Do not force a pet to hold one pose for too long. Natural movement, play and interaction with the owner often produce better photographs anyway. If the animal becomes tired or frightened, take a break.
